Starting 1 July 2024, the CIPC requires all companies to file a Beneficial Ownership Declaration. This declaration identifies shareholders, even if they are also directors.
Under the General Laws Amendment Act (22 of 2022), companies must submit updates within 10 business days of any change in beneficial ownership. This ensures compliance and promotes transparency in the fight against financial crime.
